Artist Saâd Ben Cheffaj is exhibiting his recent works at L'Atelier 21 art gallery, from November 26, 2015 to January 8, 2016. Entitled “Songes méditerranéens”, this exhibition is of a historic nature in the artist's career, as he has painted two monumental canvases of a size never before executed.
These two works resemble a primer on Saâd Ben Cheffaj's creative genius, and concentrate the best of the artist's intimacy with painting, which has lasted for over half a century. Unique, rare and magnificent, these two paintings took Ben Cheffaj two years to complete.
Writer Bouthaina Azami has this to say about the two large-scale works: “Fascinating work in blue, where the sea comes as if to sign the work in the fulgurance of a cry, comes to sign, today, real frescoes, monumental, rising 1.80m and unfolding 3.80m. And if Saâd Ben Cheffaj creates a stir with each of his exhibitions, there's no doubt that the masterly works he's showing us today are of a unique grace that reaches for the sublime.”
