Painter Zakaria Ramhani exhibits his recent works from October 9 to November 2, 2012, at Galerie d'art L'Atelier 21, Casablanca. Born in Tangier in 1983 and now living in Montreal, Zakaria Ramhani has already won over the public, connoisseurs and the media alike, with a unique body of work featuring a powerful touch where symbolism and aesthetics come together in an expressive and highly evocative whole.
Following his first solo show at Galerie d'art L'Atelier 21 in 2010, and his memorable participation in the group exhibition dedicated to drawing on paper at Galerie d'art L'Atelier 21, Zakaria Ramhani now presents oils on canvas, which seem to place even greater emphasis on the poetry of the calligraphic curve. The human portrait, in homage... Yes, it's the artist who says: “I don't make paintings, I write portraits”! Faces and profiles, expressing different states of mind, from consternation to anger, from surprise to enchanted meditation - these multiple human faces, bathed in a whirlwind of roundness and color, once again populate this very personal signature universe that has made Zakaria Ramhani's international reputation.
