Visual artist Chourouk Hriech exhibits her recent works, from April 29 to June 6, 2014, at L'Atelier 21.
After a first exhibition in 2011, where Chourouk Hriech presented a series of drawings based on urban spaces in Morocco, the artist is continuing her research into the observation of changing landscapes and defines her approach in these terms: “I've always approached drawing naturally as the skeleton of experimentation. My thinking revolves around the notion of displacement. This mobile observation gives rise to drawings like geo-expressive maps, combining interstitial zones, no-man's-lands and saturated landscapes. This new exhibition presents works resulting from a free and spontaneous itinerary in the heart of the Moroccan “archeo-landscape” that corresponds to a sequence of our times.”
