For the third time, visual artist Najia Mehadji takes over L'Atelier 21 art gallery in Casablanca, from December 7, 2021 to January 8, 2022, for an exhibition entitled Ligne de vie (Lifeline).
As writer and curator Morad Montazami, director of Zamân Books & Curating, puts it in the exhibition text, Najia Mehadji: une vie dans les plis: “Looking at one of Mehadji's paintings is often like stepping out of the lure of a supposedly ‘free’ and subjective gaze, to immerse oneself in a psycho-visual wandering that could be likened to the process of looking at a Rorschach test or a Tibetan mandala : follow each line or jet with your gaze, faithfully and structurally, as if in a labyrinth with no way out, but which is self-sufficient because of the complexity of its ramifications, to achieve a freedom superior to that of looking anywhere outside the lines. ”
