Multi-disciplinary artist, Mo Baala grew up in the heart of the souks of Taroudant, his home town. He drew most of his artistic and creative education from traditional Moroccan, African and international arts and crafts. His passion for reading, cinema, music and philosophy also fueled his creative universe. Essential encounters and the Internet also played a crucial role in his artistic education.
Mo Baala's sources of inspiration are eclectic, and most of them come from the people around him. The autobiographical component is essential in the representational world of this artist, who has developed a plastic language unique to Morocco. A curious artist who likes to experiment with different forms, Mo Baala moves from drawing to painting, exploiting collage, sculpture and graffiti.
