For its participation in this 7th edition of the London fair, L'Atelier 21 is exhibiting works by visual artist Chourouk Hriech, distinguished by a language that has earned her international recognition. In this exhibition, conceived as a solo show, Chourouk Hriech continues her work on space and motif in an ode to Africa.
The African continent is indeed at the heart of Chourouk Hriech's artistic project shown in London. The artist constructs new spaces imbued with a reality that seems to have been invented, a reality on the threshold of fiction. Chourouk Hriech is also interested in the question of clothing, with a series of drawings devoted to African ceremonial costumes. In these drawings, no faces appear. The figures disappear behind masks to make way for motifs and ornamentation.
